A Folder is a logical grouping of cloud resources within an organization — a purely conceptual way to organize resources by team, project, or environment. A folder has no spec of its own; it is defined entirely by its metadata.

Key concepts

• Name — the folder's identifier within the organization

• Purely organizational — folders group resources for clarity; they do not by themselves grant or restrict access. Access is controlled by IAM Access Policies, which can, if you wish, match on a resource's folder in a when expression
